sVYASA USA -

SVYÃSA-USA was established in 1999 with the assistance of Dr.
H. R. Nagendra, Dr. R. Nagarathna, and Mr. N. V. Raghuram of Swami
Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhãna Sansthãna (Research Foundation), known as
sVYÃSA, in Bangalore, India. This was following visits over a number of
years from these yoga experts during which time there were classes, lectures
and other activities. A number of Houstonians wanted to make the benefits of
yoga as taught at sVYÃSA's Bangalore center available to more local
residents. In agreement with sVYÃSA-Bangalore, the Houston Center was
established and incorporated in 1999 as a non-profit organization. Mr.
Ramesh Bhutada, a local businessman, was the founding president and served
until 2002. Dr. Sudha Rajan, a family physician who has been involved since
its inception, has become President of the organization.
