YICC Yoga Instructor Certificate Course / Yoga
Foundation Course
The duration of the course is 100 hours in total and it covers the following
parts:
36 hrs of Practice Teaching: Asanas, Pranayama, Kriyas, Bandhas,
Mudras, Trataka Practice Teachings to be taught by a qualified YIC Instructor under the
guidance of Sri Raghuramji
44 hrs of Yoga Theory Teaching: Basics of yoga philosophy to be
covered by Sri Raghuramji. A curriculum can be found below:
- Description of Yoga (2 hrs)
- Pancha Kosha & Streams
of Yoga (2 hrs)
- Raja Yoga (12 hrs)
- Bhakti Yoga (4 hrs)
- Jnana Yoga (4 hrs)
- Karma Yoga (4 hrs)
- History and Message of Upanishads
(4 hrs)
- Life and Message of Vivekananda (2
hrs)
- Movement of VYASA and Yoga Bharati
(2 hrs)
Preparation of thesis on yoga philosophy: Student needs to prepare a
40 page paper on a yoga topic, that is agreed with Sri Raghuramji.
Written and oral exam: Has to be taken by the end of the program for
both theory and practice parts.
20 hrs of Apprentice Instructor Program: The student needs to work as
a yoga instructor for 20 hrs in a yoga center and fill out a report
The attendance to full program is obligatory to obtain a certificate for
success.
Certification
Certificate of attendance: Everyone will get a certificate for
attending to the Yoga Practice and Yoga Philosophy Teaching; namely Fundamentals of Yoga
Certificate.
Certificate of success: The ones who passed the exams, prepared
a paper and finished the apprenticeship for instruction will get an
international Yoga Instructor Certificate (YIC) from sVYASA - Vivekananda
Yoga University.
